Cherry Blossom 2004

Yuki's weeping cherry in the rain

Yuki's weeping cherry is located in northern part of Hiroshima prefecture, Japan and is famous nation wide. On April 4, 2004 it was rain in the morning and there were few cameramen (if it was fine, there should be hundreds, but merely 20-30 cameramen) and I could enjoy photo shooting at positions where I liked. I used Kodak Ektachrome E100VS which reproduce scenery in elegant blue in the morning light, and the rain made the scenery in low contrast. These resulted in quite noble photos shown here.

Yuki's weeping cherry in a fine day

The next day, April 5, 2004 was a fine day. Then I mainly use Fuji Velvia 100F for more normal color balance. Sunlight will make scenery in high contrast and give us another beautiful photos.

Cherry Blossoms in Hiroshima City

The first photo is taken at Yasuno Station where famous for cherry and peach. Second photo looks like cherry blossom in the morning sunlight, but actually in the night lit by a street lamp. Third and fourth photos are blossoms in the morning light. The last photo is of a small weeping cherry I found near my home. I took it gentle with dual exposure technique.
