Hydrangeas Gallery 2004
In June 2004, I've visited to Amidaji Temple in Hofu-city,
Yamaguchi Prefecture and Kohtoku-ji Temple in Sera-town, Hiroshima Prefecture.
Both temples are famous for hydrangea. I expected rainy weather for gentle
light and noble scenery, but unfortunately it was very fine day and sunlight
gave me very high contrast subjects. So I looked for flowers in shadow
to avoid too high contrast on the flowers.
I mainly picked up soft images to enhance nobleness of hydrangea with
utilization of soft lens, dual exposure technique or bokeh control. Please
enjoy KEN's world of photographs with those.
Part 1: In the Pale and Gentle Light
Those are of typical KEN's style. I'm intending to lender a
scene of dream with gentle light and faint bokeh.
Part 2: Graceful Japanese Colors
I think colors of hydrangea are very close to those of ancient
Japanese graceful colors, used in vintage Kimono (Japanese old formal dress).
I wanted to emphasize graceful colors rather than shape of flowers in these
photos.
Part3: Scene of Groups
I took these photos with relatively normal point of views unlike
those above. Resultantly, group of flowers or water drops are the main
cast of the photos shown here.
