Cherry Blossom 2007

Yuki's Weeping Cherry
I've been to Yuki every year to take this beautiful cherry tree in full bloom. Because of limited shooting position availability, all photos in this year looks similar to some of past photos. The reason why I take similar photos or visit there every year is that I'm expecting to see wonderful scenery which might emerge just before day break. Unfortunately I could not see any fantastic light condition nor wonderful scenery in 2007 spring, thus I will visit again next year.
1. Before the day break, in slight morning mist.  2. Before the day break in another day, no mist. 3. Slightly after photo 1. Kodak E100VS reproduce fantasy color before the day break.
4. Closer photos of the tree with morning mist in the back.  5. After sunrise, morning mist was disappearing. 6. slight sunlight in the morning made the scenery slight misty.
7. This photo was taken in the most popular spot. Yellow flowers in front adds an accent on the picture. 8. I think this composition makes the cherry blossom most magnificent.

Somei-Yoshino (Most Popular Japanese Cherry Trees)
I'm taking Somei-Yoshino every year mainly for macro photography. I visited in 2007 to Hijiyama Park and Yunoyama Onsen in Hiroshima City, and Nanatsuka Highland in Shobara City located in Northern part of Hiroshima prefecture.
There are two new lens added to my camera bag. Tamron SP-AF180mm F3.5 Di macro, which reproduces sharp with soft and smooth bokeh. The other is Carl Zeiss Planar 85mm F1.4 MMJ with AC Close-up Lens No.3. This combination of lens reproduces noble tone on the photos.
9. Purple tone reproduced by Kodak E100VS with dawn light. 10. Cherry blossoms with rising sun, taken in Hijiyama Park. 11. Another photo with rising sun taken in Nanatsuka Highland.
12. When sunlight comes through flowers, silhouette of flowers appear in bokeh of the sun. 13. After sunrise, I would look for a good background light. 14. Cherry blossoms in the strong sun light with Planar's noble tone.
15. Slight existence of a blossom in full of bokeh. 16. A blossom in the noble light. 17. A blossom in the sky, yet in a soft tone.
18. Light comes through branches is a good spice of a photo. 19. Very noble, gentle tone reproduced only by Planar 85/1.4 plus AC close-up lens. 20. A bud sometimes has strong presence.
21. These two photos are of the same subject to compare lens characteristics. It's of Tamron 180mm macro. 22. It's of Planar 85mm F1.4 plus AC close-up No.3 lens. Quite unique tone is reproduced, I think. 23. Another Planar plus close-up lens photo. Very soft and gentle.
24. Due to extremely shallow depth of field, if space has depth, then no shape appears. 25. It's different kind of cherry blossoms. Ohkanzakura, I think.
26. Somei-Yoshino trees in the morning sunlight, tinted in gold. 27. Somei-Yoshno's branches, morning mist in the back.

Nagazo's Weeping Cherry
In the last year, the cherry tree was covered with dense fog and its scenery became extremely magnificent (see here). In this year, however, it was raining but no fog came here. So the scenery was rather normal and three photos are presented here. Two are in blue tone thanks to Kodak Ektachrome E100VS color rendering in the early morning, and the other is taken from back of the tree.
28. Trees standing in the light of dawn. The tree aged more than 420 years but still very vital.  29. Most popular composition of the tree with utilizing E100VS's color rendering in the dawn. 30. It's taken from back of the tree. It looks wild and vital comparing to the previous photo.
